- 「呼吸する星」

- 真っ暗な宇宙、この世界にまだ何も無かった頃。
- 眩い光から銀河が生まれ、星が生まれ、燃え尽きて終焉を迎えた。
- そこから太陽系が生まれ、地球が生まれ、そして私たちの生命につながり、今に至る。
- この間に約138億年という時間が流れているそうです。

- 私たちが存在している、今、この瞬間というもの。
- それは果てしない時の流れの中で繰り広げられてきた、物質と生命の営みの、先端にあると言えます。

これは宇宙物理学者の佐治晴夫先生の言葉です。
「星が終焉を迎えたとき、超新星爆発というかたちで、星のカケラが宇宙空間にばらまかれます。 - そこから太陽系が生まれ、地球が生まれ、私たちのいのちへつながりました。
- 言葉を変えれば、全ての存在は”星のカケラ”だということです。
- つまり、この宇宙に存在する全てのものは根源において同一であり、独立存在はありえない。
- すべては、相互存在です。」

– - 全ての存在が”星のカケラ”から始まっているのであれば、
今、生きている私たちは「呼吸する星」と呼ぶことができると思い、展示のテーマとしました。 - 私たちは「呼吸する星」として、お互いに、そして自然環境と関係を築く事ができないでしょうか。

- これは荘厳な宇宙、大きな自然、悠久の時間、そして生命にまつわる物語です。
そしてこの大きすぎるテーマはとても私の手に負えません。
しかし、手に負えない事、わからない事に、興味と解放感を感じています。
そこに身体感覚を存分に使って、この物語に挑戦してゆきたいと思うのです。 - ———
- The Breathing Star
- The universe was dark, when there was still nothing in this world. From the bright light, galaxies began to form, stars were born, and then they burned up and came to an end. From there, the solar system was born, the earth was born, and this led to our life up to the present. During this time, about 13.8 billion years have passed.
- We are here, at this very moment. It can be said that we are at the very tip of the activities of matter and life that have been going on amidst the endless flow of time.

These are the words of astrophysicist Dr. Haruo Saji.
When a star reaches the end of its life, fragments of the star are scattered in space in the form of a supernova explosion. From there, the solar system was born, the earth was born, and our life was connected to it. In other words, all existence is a “piece of a star. In other words, everything that exists in the universe is identical at the root, and there is no independent existence. Everything is mutual.”
-(Excerpt from Prelude to the Stars [New Century Edition]) - If all existence begins with a “piece of a star,” then we can be called “breathing stars,” and this is the theme of this exhibition.
- As “breathing stars,” can we build a relationship with each other and with the environment?
- This is a story of the majestic universe, of great nature, of eternal time, and of life.
And this is too big a subject for me to handle.
However, I feel intrigued and liberated by the unmanageable and the unknowable.
I would like to challenge this story by using my physical senses to the fullest.
